In this 4-week workshop you will learn intensively and in a condensed form what the students of the Academy of Fine Art Germany learn in the course of study to become a state-recognized painter.
In the first week, we will look at the basics of realistic drawing. Here we will show you the most important measuring methods, how to handle the materials and deepen your knowledge of light and shadow.
While we work with pencil in the first week, you will learn how to use charcoal in the second week. This will help you to bring even more three-dimensionality into your pictures and to better emphasize the shapes through the stronger contrast.
In the third week we start with oil painting. After an introduction to the materials, you will do some studies. You will learn to work with a limited palette and how to perceive, mix and apply cold and warm colors. This is the perfect introduction to work with a wider range of colors in the fourth week and to get to know other palettes.
You will also practise figure drawing throughout the four weeks. To do this, we will start by studying the human anatomy. We will then work from the model every day.
