In this 4-week workshop you will learn intensively and in a nutshell what the students of the Academy of Fine Art Germany learn in the course to become a state-recognized painter.

In the first week we will deal with the basics of realistic drawing. Here we show you the most important measuring methods, how to handle the materials and deepen your knowledge of light and shadow.

While we work with pencils in the first week, you will learn how to use charcoal in the second week. This helps you bring even more three-dimensionality to your images and highlight the shapes better thanks to the stronger contrast.
In the third week we start oil painting. After an introduction to the materials, you will do some studies on them. You will learn to work with a limited palette and how to perceive, mix and apply cold and warm colors. This is the perfect introduction to explore a wider range of colors and get to know other palettes in the fourth week.

You will also practice life drawing throughout the four weeks. To do this, we will start by looking at human anatomy. After that we will work from the model every day.
You will need drawing materials for this workshop. This includes paper, pencils, kneaded erasers, etc. You will receive a materials list before the start of the workshop so that you can get everything you need. Don't want to worry about this? Then you can also simply order our drawing starter set or buy any missing materials from us on site.
Of course, you will also need materials for oil painting. These include painting surfaces, oil paints, brushes, etc. You will also find this in the materials list that we will send you. If you are unsure about certain materials, we will of course be happy to give you direct recommendations.
