This workshop is intended for participants who already have some knowledge of drawing. It ideally follows on from our basic drawing workshop and can either take place at a time after each other or directly after it.
In this workshop you will learn to draw with charcoal. Our teachers will teach you how to sharpen them, what degree of hardness to use for what and how to create clean transitions and build up several layers of charcoal on top of each other. Charcoal has the property of being much darker than pencil. This gives your drawings even more three-dimensionality. In addition, different moods can be created very well.
We continue to deepen our understanding of the measurement methods. Continuous practice will make you even more confident in dealing with them. You will also find that it trains your eyes and you become more accurate over time. This also makes it easier for you to recognize errors. We'll teach you how to correct yourself and what tricks we use to recognize and correct proportions and tonalities.
In addition to drawing itself, you will also learn important information about drawing with charcoal. There are very different types of coal available to buy now and each one has its advantages and disadvantages. Additionally, some papers are better than others for charcoal drawing. Get to know the differences so that you are not surprised later when purchasing materials. We'll also show you how to fix your drawings to make them last longer.
